Gotta Have Style: What to Wear for Early Fall 2009
Though it may seem as if we have just begun to wear our flirty summer dresses and strappy sandals, a new season is already beginning to peek in. Fall 2009 is starting to show its head and it’s fun to take a look at what we’ll want to be wearing in the coming months.
May favorite look, thus far, in all of the fashion magazines has to be this phenomenal red leather coat/dress with the tan leather belt. I love it! It also is shown in brown. Of course, it’s Prada and quite pricey. Perhaps I’ll find a way to mimic it for less money…
I even love the shoes that Prada is showing with this look. They are Mary Janes with a lug sole — comfy, cool and appropriate for work, Saturday nights out, with pants or dresses. Here’s a pair close up in a great transitional color. These are great for the weather before you need to wear tights but after sandals feel ‘right’ for day. To be style-minded this fall, one only needs to tweak the wardrobe a bit from the past couple of seasons. Thankfully, dresses are still in abundance. I am truly loving Nanette Lepore right now. Add a bit of shoulder padding to your jackets and you’ll have updated your look just right. Instead of a black suit this fall, try a deep moss green, grey or brown. Over the knee boots, which I fell in love with well over a year ago are hot, hot, hot right now. See last fall’s blog to view more over-the-knee and thigh-high boot looks. I found this fantastic pair from Stuart Weitzman in suede. They are truly divine!
Deep wine and purple shades still look great. See the Burberry dress at the top of this page for a simple, yet lovely way to dress this fall. A great leather bag in deep red, such as the Prada at the top will update your wardrobe and will go with everything.
