Expensive and Cheap: You Pick the Shoe

Two of these black patent, platform sandals sell for under $50, the other sells for over $500.  Can you tell which is which??? See the end of this blog for your answer.

Even if you are correct in choosing the more expensive shoe, you have to admit, they are pretty similar.  It is true that the materials used, the fit, the way the shoe is glued or sown or put together will be different between an expensive shoe and a much less costly copy.  Sometimes it really pays to get the higher-priced option.  And, if you can afford it, you should.  But, if your budget is really limited, you should always be aware that for many items (shoes especially) there are very similar looking, lower priced options.

This lovely miu miu sandals will set you back about $600.  It’s a great looking, easy to wear and perfect height sandal.  But, that’s a lot of bucks to spend on one shoe.  Here’s another option: a perfectly nice sandal that comes in a variety of colors and retails for $69 at victoriassecret.com.

Need a black patent pump?  There are none finer than those made by Christian Louboutin.  They are simply sublime — and also about $700!

So try these Alsdos.  They sell for $110 and when they scoff up, you won’t be as upset.

Want to purchase a pair of this season’s high wedges with gladiator styling?  Here’s a super cool pair  by twelfth street for $365 from pinkmascara.com.

Or these available at Bloomies, by Ash for $225:

Or, there’s always this option.  For $98 again from victoriassecret.com.

Believe me, you’ll wear them for awhile and then by next season, you’ll be pining for the next great look.  So, purchase away but stay within your budget.  There’s absolutely no reason not to…!

The smaller picture is a michael kors sandal, available at michaelkors.com for about $500 and the two larger pictures are sandals that can be found at electricboutique.com.  Happy shoe hunting!
