It’s Time for a Spring Coat — Trenches Anyone????
No matter what you do for a living or what your lifestyle entails, everyone needs a trench coat. And, if you don’t own a classic khaki trench, that’s the place to start. A coat like the one pictured above (classic burberry available at bloomingdales and other upscale departments stores for about $900) can go over suits, jeans, cocktail dresses and can be worn practically year ’round. Now that Spring is in the air, it’s really time to take a look at your coat wardrobe and fill in what’s missing for that in-between weather.
There are many choices when it comes to a trench coat. And, you don’t have to spend a lot of money to get a great looking one.
This one is online from Old Navy and retails for $49.50. It is available in many sizes and a couple of other colors, as well.
If you already own a classic khaki or black trench why not go for color? This smart looking Marc by Marc Jacobs would be gorgeous going to work or out for dinner. It’s available at net-a-porter.com for about $530. His coats fit great by the way. I have a couple that I purchased years ago that I still really love and wear often.
And, if that’s more than you care to spend on pink, INC International, avaialble at Macy’s has a pink trench that sels for $129.
This trench-styled coat is actually made out of denim, available at Armaniexchange.com and is on sale for about $100. It’s really cute with pleat details on the back that you can view on their website. I love the idea of wearing a denim trench over a black dress for day or evening. It tones down the seriousness of the outfit, still gives that great trench fit that is so flattering to everyone’s figure and has just a bit of playfulness to it that I like to have in my wardrobe. Great over wider-legged or simple black pants, as well.
Here’s my dream coat for the season. A “tiered” Burberry in black that is really adorable. Great Burberry fabric, great color and a lot of style and uniqueness (without the trendy factor). It’s $1,295 at Saks. So, I’ll keep dreaming about this one. But, if you have the cash and already own the classics but want something new and fun for the season, this has to be it!
