Your Aesthetic Footprint

I’ve started riding my bike a lot lately (see my blog: I Feel Lucky Because I Love My Bike) and feel good that I really am reducing my carbon footprint, at least a litttle.  It’s everyone’s responsibility to do what they can to help our environment.

But what about the our responsibility to create an aesthetically pleasing footprint?  It is really important that we all share in adding to the beauty and richness of our communities, as well.  We may have different opinions about what is pleasing to our eyes but I count the effort to be interesting, beautiful, attractive, and/or pleasant as a “step” in the right direction.

I give points for uniqueness.  How fun it can be to sit on a bench somewhere and watch the people go by… each one a work of art, a unique creation.  Of course, the more adventurous the population the more wondrous the landscape.  So don’t see life as one big junior high.  Be yourself, dress for fun, for flirtation ,for expression — it doesn’t matter what the reason. But dress for something — other than the gym!!!  You owe it to your environment.
