I’m in a Purse Conundrum

I cannot find a purse worthy of my dollars these days. Don’t get me wrong, I like a lot of what I see and I’d easily buy a half-dozen or so. But, they are too expensive and I want just one – the right one.

Why Buy More

I have some great purses; most of them securely stored away on my shelves in tidy bags to keep them dust-free. I seem to always be most comfortable with my Prada nylon totes. They are lightweight, carry a lot and never seem out of fashion or too showy. So, to replace these everyday bags, I need something stupendous.

I Want Color

I’d love a great colorful bag and saw a few that I really liked. Chloe has a great plum colored bag – for about $1,700. Marc by Marc Jacobs has a bunch of sunny colored bags for under $500 but not one seems to be “the one”.

Some More I’ve thought About

I like Tory Burch’s use of color and pricing but does she have to put her initial on each piece in such a vulgar manner? And, the flowery totes are really fun but I’m really afraid I’ll tire of those very quickly. Although, I may just buy a white leather, simple tote and take my permanent markers to it to create my own flowery design. The Fendi baguette that comes in white canvas with a set of markers gave me the idea. Fendi’s sells for $1,300. I think I can make my own for a whole lot less!

Like Choosing A Mate over 35

I feel like I’ve almost waited too long, I’ve held out for something so terrific, that nothing seems good enough anymore. And, I’m just not going to spend the equivalent of my mortgage on a purse. I’m too afraid that in six months, I’ll be tired of it. That’s okay for an inexpensive purse, but for something that I had to sacrifice for, I better like it for a long, long, long time. There are just no assurances that will occur.

I Remain Without

So, I will continue my hunt. Which is, after all, the most fun part anyway.
